WHAT DO YOU NEED TO MAKE A NO BAKE MILLE FEUILLE DESSERT
All you need is 5 ingredients to make this easy no bake mille feuille dessert.
PUFF PASTRY BISCUITS
I like to use puff pastry biscuits because it saves me a lot of time having to make my own. Plus they end up coting less than puff pastry too. If you cant find puff pastry biscuits you could try using palmier biscuits or making your own. I know making your own defeats the whole no bake mille feuille dessert but if that’s the only obstacle between you and this delicious creamy dessert than make your own puff pastry biscuits.

If you watch my video below I show you just how easy it is to make your own puff pastry biscuits. But I also write it here so you can see just hoe simple they are to make.
HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN PUFF PASTRY BISCUITS
- Roll out your puff pastry (or use pre rolled puff pastry)
- Cut out your biscuits
- Sprinkle with some icing sugar
- Bake in the oven at 180° for 20 minutes or until golden
CREME PATISSIERE / CUSTARD
To keep to our no bake theme you can buy some ready made vanilla crème patissiere or custard. I prefer to make my own because I find the shop ones have a funny kind of sweetness. But my crème patissiere is the best (“,). Its silky, velvety, vanillery and super easy to make. Click here for my crème patissiere recipe and you will see I go into so much detail and I walk you through each step that you are guaranteed a silky smooth custard.
DOUBLE CREAM
You can’t have a summer dessert without fresh cream plus I love cream so a lot of whipped cream sits perfectly on top of this no bake mille feuille. Make sure to whip your cream to the point of when it just starts to thicken.
WHIPPING CREAM TIPS
- You don’t want to whip it too much because when you start to spread your cream all the agitation from your spoon or spatula will make your cream curdle or become like butter.
- If you over whip your cream add a little cream or milk to your over whipped cream and whisk it again. This will loosen up your cream, but make sure to not over whip.
ICING SUGAR & CINNAMON
A sprinkling of icing sugar and cinnamon on the top of our no bake mille feuille dessert adds a subtle hint of sweetness and spice. Don’t underestimate or over estimate the amount you add. I like to add my icing sugar first so my crushed puff pastry looks like snow has settled on top and then I finish it off with my cinnamon.
KIDS IN THE KITCHEN
This is such an easy dessert you can let your kids make it from start to finish. Watch the video below to see my girls making it. Plus all the no bake mille feuille dessert pics you see in this blog post have been made by my two oldest daughters.
One of the best skills we can teach our children and it’s a great way to spend time together as a family. This no bake mille feuille is a great dessert to let your kids make when you have visitors coming round. Imagine how proud they will be bringing up their dessert to the table knowing they made it all on their own. Plus when everyone has a taste they wont be just complimenting how beautiful it looks. They will be asking for seconds because it is so tasty (“,).
