GELATIN BOWLS
Beautiful edible gelatin bowls or gelatine bowls that will jazz up anything you put inside
Prep Time 20 minutes
Ingredients
Made From Gelatin powder
- 12 g Powdered gelatin
- 4 tbs Water
Made From Leaf Gelatin
- 4 leaves Platinum gelatin
- 4 tbsp Water
- Food colouring you can use liquid or gel colour the gel colour is a little more vibrant
- Olive oil
Equipment
- Water balloons for small bowls
- Standard size water balloons for large bowls
- Masking tape for straight edge bowls
- Wooden skewers
- Cups
- Kitchen paper
Instructions
Preparation
- Decide on the balloons sizes you want and if you want a straight edge bowl or an organic rimmed bowl. bowl. If you want a straignt edge bowl use some masking tape to tape around the center of your balloon
- Oil your balloons by addind a few drops of oil to some kitchen paper and rubbing it all over the baloon
- If your balloons are small pierce the tails of your balloons with a wooden skewer
Gelatine Powder
- Put your powdered gelatin and water in a bowl and give it a good stir
Gelatin Leaves
- Put your gelatin leaves in a bowl of water and leave them to soak for 5 minutes
Making
- Heat your gelatin in the microwave for 20 seconds or until it is runny
- Add your chosen food colouring to your runny gelatin and mix it in well
- Have fun dipping your balloon into your coloured gelatine
- Leave your baloon to dry over a glass for a few days, until it has hardened
- Cut the tails off of your balloons and watch your balloons unstick from the gelatin
- If you used tape on your balloons cut across the tape to reveal a beautiful straight edge

-Wait a few minutes for your gelatin to thicken then drip over your bowl

-Dip in various colours for 2 toned and multicoloured bowls

-These bowls can be made months in advanced, I made mine 4 months ago and they still look as good as they did on day 1
